25 Random Things…
Yes, I finally caved.
Facebook has been exploding with the “25 random things” phenomenon…
It’s akin to a chain letter, carrying this instructional heading at the top of each note:
“Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.”
John McArthur, a communications professor and a digital media expert at Queens University, says: “I think the Internet gives us a superficial way to know other people…Doing things like this 25 Things note allows us to go a little bit deeper, because we do search for a deeper relationship interpersonally.”
Sure. And oh yeah, don’t forget the need to procrastinate.
After being tagged three times by close friends I fell prey to the seductive call of the 25RT movement. Have you written yours?
