A few site upgrades

Written By: daveski on November 30, 2008 No Comment

This site will likely be in Beta-development for its entire life…what better place to be? The process is slow and piecemeal, and if any of you out there would like to lend your talents to the FIT team, please get in touch! <foundintranslation.admin[at]gmail.com>.

Additions/changes in the last week include:

  1. A plugin for adding thumbnail pics to the upper left corner of your post. When you’re writing a post, you’ll see the prompt below the “Tags” and “Categories” sections of the screen. As of right now there’s only one size available, it can’t be hyperlinked, and it doesn’t appear on the permalinked post page, but at least it jazzes up the text-heavy front page. Hope to expand the capabilities here soon. If you want to add a thumbnail to any of your past posts, you can just go back and edit it, re-saving after you’ve uploaded and sized the image, like I did for my “Does language unite or divide multicultural societies?” post. Thoughts?
  2. A link below the last of the 10 “Latest Posts” in the left column that goes to pages of excerpts of all posts. You can click through these in reverse chronological order all the way back to the first FIT posts. Posts of all categories currently appear in this list.
  3. A site development page which is linked in the footer of every FIT page, in light grey text. Just added links to a whole bunch of other sites that use the same template that we’re using, to very different effects. Something to get the imaginative juices flowing!
  4. What changes would you like to see next?
