Worlds in words, on the word world map
If you can say that three times fast, then please read on… : )
This post accompanies the Word Map page that’s linked in the header of the FIT homepage. Sirpa and I were inspired by the activities listed on the website for the European Day of Languages to make a few fun resources that could potentially be used in all language classes; one of those is this, a map of words that anybody can add to. The idea is to tell about a “world in a word”–that is, to introduce a word that’s special or memorable to you, that’s tied to a particular experience you had somewhere.
This post is for comments & discussion about the words on the map, since the page linked above shows a large version of the map but doesn’t allow comments. Anyone–in a class or not, in Berkeley or not–is welcome to add words to the map, and to comment below.
