Self-portrait

Written By: Youki on December 7, 2008 1 Comment

Sonja Lind over at Papyrus News posted on a project that represents webpages as graphs.  Go check it out!

Here’s FIT (click on image to increase size):

blue: for links

red: for tables

green: for the DIV tag

violet: for images

yellow: for forms

orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes

black: the HTML tag, the root node

gray: all other tags

It’s infinitely cooler to watch the graph “unfold” as the script crawls through all of the FIT webpages and draws the graph (you may need to give it a few secs).

Ha! Thanks for posting this, Youki. It was fascinating to watch the graph unfold..wow! It also reminded me of the Typealyzer, the site which offers to tell users what type of a blog it is, when you enter the URL. We are:

The logical and analytical type. They are especially attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.

They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.”

    Intellectual and arrogant. Wow.

It also reminds me of the GenderAnalyzer site: and what gender is FIT? There’s a 56% chance FIT is written by a woman!!!!!
